Expert clinical skills rely on understanding the fundamental and complex responses to needling the human body. This follows time-dependent reactions from the first initiation of tissue response by needle insertion to the final and complex restorative reactions that follow. In this class, Dr. Donald Kendall will share with you, the neurophysiological aspect, the fundamental mechanisms of acupuncture, and the essential time-dependent reactions that will achieve the desired clinical response. He will further discuss the selection of acupoints that assure directing the restorative response to address each specific condition.
Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:
Understand the complex tissue reactions provoked by the minute tissue damage by needle insertion.
Know Chinese view of bodily organization, which allows selection of specific acupoints to address presenting problems.
Understand the sequential time dependencies of all responses so that they are also taken into consideration to address the full range of patient problems.
