Everyone will experience loss at some point in their lives, and while grief is a completely normal and natural response to loss, it can be difficult and frightening for patients to manage the grieving process and achieve acceptance. Complicated grief is defined as grief that becomes debilitating and does not improve with time. Having a deeper understanding of grief and the grieving process can help the practitioner better support their patients through loss of any kind.
In this course, Dr. Melissa Monroe goes over the difference between supporting grief and treating grief, examples of harmful grief processes, the stages of grief, and bedside manners.
Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:
Have a deeper understanding of grief and the grieving process
Be able to identify the difference between supporting and treating grief
Recognize harmful grief processes
