Supporting patients in grief has always been a large part of Dr. Melissa Monroe’s practice, but her understanding of grief became far more personal after she lost her 2-year-old daughter to Sudden Unexpected Death in Children in August of 2013. Through personal experience, Dr. Monroe brings you this introductory course close to her heart on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): clinical data of PTSD, what makes up the emotional brain, and TCM application for PTSD and grief using the NADA protocol and traditional acupuncture points.
Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:
Have a deeper understanding of grief and the grieving process
Be able to identify the difference between supporting and treating grief
Recognize what makes up the emotional brain
