COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Everyone recognizes that the gut, which is also called the "second brain", is one of the most significant organ systems in the body, whether in TCM, western medicine, or functional medicine. What happens in the gut affects the brain and the immune system; therefore we can restore optimum health for our bodies by restoring gut function.

We are fortunate as TCM practitioners to have mastered the most powerful medicine in the world. TCM is restorative medicine, meaning that we have the ability to help our patients regain organ function and the ability of the body to repair itself.

Although there are many complex gut problems, this course will concentrate on how gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), constipation, and diarrhea are improved by TCM through acupuncture, herbs, and diet. Case studies and a review of the Western medicine definition and treatment options of each condition will also be covered.
