Essential Tung's Acupuncture - Dr. Brad Whisnant

What a GREAT webinar this weekend with Dr. Brad Whisnant!

This past webinar weekend, we had the honor of having Brad join us and share his amazing knowledge of Master Tung's acupuncture! The first day started off with the theories and Master Tung points on the hands. The second day finished off with the remaining points on the body. Brad taught the most commonly used points, showing us where they are and what they are used for. He even gave us his input on how to treat certain conditions!

In case you missed the class, it is availalbe as a Distance Learning Course - Video Recording. Look for it here!

Here are some highlights in the class:

  • No matter what pain you have, needle the same side on GB31
  • Master Tung always said, "When you have chronic pain, needle the Kidney because chronic pain always goes to the Kidney." (On Day 2, you will see Brad needling me for my chronic (2 months) back pain!!)
  • The BEST point for Parkinson's is LR 3
  • A great tip: Young and Maher may have different numbers for the same point but the Chinese names are the same so it's good to know the Chinese name.
  • A good point for stress and irritability is Wood Anger (2nd finger D line)
  • Consistently, distal acupuncture works best the more distal the point is from the pain.
  • The guiding point(s) is usually the shu-stream or ying-spring points of the affected channel.
  • The legs are the BEST for systemic issues!
  • Herbs are the best for internal conditions!

Again, great webinar and I can't wait to watch the recording again to catch up on some of the information I missed. This is the best perk of the webinar - having 2 weeks to review the material!!

Hi Donna Brad's webinar/seminar was one of the best learning experiences I have ever had. The content was excellent and it was presented in such an entertaining way with Brad adding in so much of his own personal experiences with Master Tung's method. I had not heard of Brad before but he is definitely one of the best presenters & teachers I have come across. For me there were so many highlights. As I'm writing this the concept of bone treating bone and tendon treating tendon was a big aha moment but there were so many that I have been spent most of the last few days virtually transcribing the seminar so as not to miss anything. I want to thank elotus not just for Brad's webinar but for the massive resource you have created for all of us. I only recently found you but since then have been barely off the site. As for Brad's seminar it was awesome and I can't recommend it highly enough. Bring on the next one Glenn
