Tamara D. Willingham, LAc, DiplOM is the highly successful practitioner and business owner behind Tamara TCM Acupuncture & Herbs. Tamara grew up in the Toledo, Ohio, area and began her wellness career as a licensed massage therapist before pursuing a program in Oriental Medicine at Bastyr University. Upon completion of Bastyr’s herbal program in Cheng Du, China, and graduation with her MSAOM in 2011, Tamara returned home and began seeing patients seven days a week out of one room in a small, established clinic in the Toledo area.

By 2012, Tamara had opened her own thriving Chinese medicine practice, Tamara TCM Acupuncture & Herbs, and within the first year, was bringing in six figures. Through the effectiveness of her modality and skilled integration of a flourishing herbal dispensary business, she went on to double that business in her second year; she has continued the business’ considerable growth in subsequent years. At 9 years old, Tamara TCM now employs additional Chinese medicine practitioners, massage therapists, a business management staff, and is tracking even larger growth into 2019 and beyond.

With a busy practice and an even busier family, including four children ranging from toddler to teenager, Tamara leads a fun and active life. The business model she has created allows for working at a high level while maintaining the flexibility to see patients and effectively protecting the balance between her fast-paced professional and home lives. Her talent for utilizing the herbal dispensary to both help patients and harness a lucrative additional stream of income for the business has made Tamara very prosperous locally and beyond.
