Satch Purcell, L.Ac., OTR/L, completed his Masters in acupuncture and Oriental medicine at South Baylo University in 1997. He became certified in acupuncture orthopedics and enjoyed advanced training in orthopedic integration medicine at the Dong Zhi Men hospital of orthopedics and traumatology in Beijing, China. He also earned a Masters in occupational therapy from Loma Linda University and obtained advanced practice certification from the California Board of Occupational Therapy in the use of physical agent modalities. He currently is the program director for the occupational therapy assistant program at Stanbridge College in Irvine, CA.
In addition to working as a full time educator in the field of occupational therapy, Satch has previously taught classes in acupuncture and herbology at South Baylo University, and continues to see private clients at The Healing Sanctuary in Tustin, CA. He has also spent the last several years providing acupuncture services for opiate addiction recovery at a private medical detoxification clinic. He has a keen interest in patient-practitioner interaction skills and the careful use of language as a healing modality.
