David Frierman, L.Ac.

David Frierman graduated acupuncture school in 1989 and opened a low-cost community clinic in Portland, OR with two friends shortly after. A few years later, David founded and directed a public health Chinese medical clinic. This clinic was housed in a private social service agency called Outside In that also provides a Western medicine and Naturopathic medicine public health service. Besides working with other volunteer L.Ac.s in treating clients, he supervised shifts of interns from the two Chinese medical colleges in Portland, the National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM) and the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) where he remains an adjunct faculty. After over 15 years, David left Outside In and continued to volunteer at a clinic that focuses on body work.

David believes that acupuncture in combination with body work is synergistic. His heart lies in public health and in addition to his volunteer work, he teaches the Internal Medicine Course at NCNM and has one rotation of Interns there, and substitute supervises at OCOM.
