COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Environmental toxins are a hidden yet powerful disruptor of neurological and metabolic health, silently compromising organ function, meridian balance, and overall well-being. This course explores a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) approach to detoxification, integrating acupuncture, palpation-based testing techniques, and functional medicine insights to effectively identify and clear toxin-related imbalances. Rather than focusing solely on theory, this hands-on course ensures practitioners gain practical skills to recognize and address toxin-induced dysfunction with precision. Developed by Michelle Meramour, the Body-Feedback Acupuncture System provides a structured framework for assessing and treating these imbalances, using classical acupuncture theory, palpation techniques, and pulse assessment to confirm diagnosis and guide treatment strategies.
This interactive course teaches students how to translate information from Western medical studies into TCM terms and treatment protocols for acupuncture and herbal medicine, bridging the gap between modern research and classical Chinese medicine principles. Participants will explore how environmental toxins infiltrate the body through the six-level qi pathways, disrupting organ function and creating trisection discord. By integrating functional medicine testing into the TCM paradigm, practitioners can assess underlying factors such as nutrition, stress, allergens, toxins, genetics, and the microbiome, gaining a comprehensive understanding of each patient’s condition. Acupuncture point combinations will be explored to diagnose organ dysfunction and support detoxification, while palpation-based testing methods will help identify the most effective herbs and supplements. Through case studies, real-world application, and hands-on engagement, this course equips acupuncturists with the essential tools to confidently implement detox strategies, address chronic illness, and promote optimal health.
