
This course is an overview of a comprehensive way of understanding the origin, persistence and treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases. Chronic inflammation is thought to be fundamental to the pathology of a wide range of diseases commonly seen in the Chinese medical clinic, including autoimmune, chronic infectious, endocrine, and oncological. This course will examine in detail the three main causes of persistent heat in the body, the primary pathological triad, disruption to the Heart Kidney axis, and lingering pathogens. Strategies for understanding and resolving this heat, illustrated with numerous case histories from the instructor's practice will be presented.
In Part I of this course, Will focuses on an introduction to chronic inflammation, how it relates to Chinese medicine, the primary pathological triad, and the Heart Kidney axis.
